Skincare Products I’ve Been Using | Acne.Org
Skincare should be one of the most important things we should care about. If our skincare looks good our makeup will look good. If our skin doesn’t look good our makeup won’t look its best. I have struggled with scarring for a couple of years. It isn’t super bad, but it isn’t pretty either. I wanted to share with you some products I have been using since about the end of August, beginning of September. The three-step system is called Acne.Org. It includes a cleanser, treatment, and moisturizer.
With only two months in, I was able to see the difference. See the picture above for the before and about two months in. This was me following the steps and not touching ANY pimple. Let me clarify this because if you watched my video you’re probably wondering, wait so did you still break out during the regimen or not? Before I ever used the system I would always get random little pimples here and there, it was never really “acne”. I would pop them and the scarring would stay. I would use other products but they didn’t work fast enough (Side Note: I do recall using apple cider before I used the regimen and hated it! I know they say use it on your skin and it works like magic but it irritated my skin) because next thing you knew it was that time of the month and I would get more pimples. Anyways, I would again pop them so this was the reoccurring pattern. I needed to find something that helped stop me from getting pimples so I could focus on removing the current scarring I had. As you can see from the picture it was working. For about 7 weeks I had no pimples at all.
After a couple of months into using the regimen I would feel a small bump on my face and automatically think it was a pimple and I would mess around with it ALL day. It was so unnecessary because I could just apply some of the products and it would do the job for me. I seriously need to stop touching my face. So when I kept messing with it I saw that I was creating scarring, even though I had just gotten rid of almost all of the previous scarring I had. This was really my fault, so lesson learned LEAVE YOUR FACE ALONE! I started using the AHA, and noticed it really does work for scarring. Check out this video that explains why AHA is better than abrasive exfoliants. I have been using it every other day and noticed my scarring is fading away.
I do 100% recommend these products especially if your scarring or acne is worse than mine. I try my best to be transparent and honest. If you follow me on snapchat you know I always snap without filters or even without makeup. Be confident in your skin, everyone struggles with something but at the end of the day only you can love yourself the most.
I will still be using the regimen for another six months and share with you my progress after a year, so be on the lookout for that! To some, my before and after may not be a huge difference but to me it was because I would try everything to help with scarring and everything made my face feel smooth but my scarring was still there.
For more explanation about the three step system, check out the video I made below.
An Easy Everyday Braid
I know how difficult it is every morning to wake up and not only have to rush to put makeup on or choose your outfit, but also deciding what to do with your hair. Most people, like myself, have wavy/textured hair so whatever I decide to do with my hair it has to be something that can control it. One of the things I found to be convenient is doing some type of braid with my hair. Some people freak with they hear the words “braid” because they automatically assume it is very difficult. However, it actually is not that bad, once you give it a try!
Sharing with you an easy braid today that can be accomplished on those days when we are rushing out the door. I must admit, that was me this morning. It’s Friday, and you know those days when you are just wanting the weekend to get started already, well that’s exactly how I felt. This braid is a one-sided braid that has two simple steps.
The first step is to take a small portion closest to your face and start doing a regular dutch braid. If you want a step by step of what the dutch braid actually is, check it out here. So once you are doing braiding that small section to the side of your face use a small elastic band and tie it at the end. At this point you should still have the rest of your hair out, this will be made into another braid along with the one you just finished.
This picture is a little step further, but I will explain what I did. I grabbed the braid I just made and the rest of my hair and separated into three sections to do a regular french braid. Here is a step by step for a french braid. I completed the braid until I had no more hair and used another elastic band to tie it at the end. The reason I have two different braids in one is because more often than not, My hair always falls out but this will help keep the first braid in place.
I hope you like these types of posts. Don’t be shy and leave me a comment down below on what other type of hair tutorials you want to see next. Also, if you haven’t noticed there is a “Pin it” button on each picture to share on Pinterest, pin this easy hair style!
My Top 3 Lipstick Brands
Beauty is one of the many topics I like sharing on the blog and today I wanted to share my top lipstick brands. I went through a phase where all I did was purchase lipstick products. I have a lot that I don’t use…sadly! The type of lipsticks I wear vary from matte, to glossy, to semi-matte. I haven’t really found a preference, but all I know is that no matter what lipstick I wear I still dislike wearing it while I eat. For example, if I am eating a burger my lipstick just gets all over my face.
There are so many brands out there that have really great lipsticks and their quality is really good. I wanted to share with you some of my top three brands that I feel are not only affordable, but also really good. I have purchased from these brands for far too long and only been disappointed very few times (like once or twice). Some of my top brands for lipsticks are also high end brands, but I figured I would share those with you on another post.
So what exactly am I looking for when I purchase a lipstick? That can be a very simple answer like the color. However, I also look for the consistency and how it applies on my lips. If the product is matte and is a lipstick and not a liquid lipstick, chances are it will be a little difficult to apply on the lips. Personally, I don’t like that. If I am looking for a matte lipstick I go for a liquid lipstick, they are just way easier to apply. I also love glossy lipsticks for an everyday look.
NYX
When I first started purchasing lipsticks I went with NYX. I just read so many great reviews and figured they would be perfect to start with. They have a great variety of lipsticks from matte, to gloss, to suede, and even liquid lipsticks. I personally, love their Butter Gloss Lipsticks that are only $5, talk about a steal! I have so many colors, and I love that I can pair it with other lipsticks to have the glossy finish. I do run out of these like crazy, but I love how convenient NYX is that many stores carry them.MILANI
This is probably my favorite go-to lipstick that I own. You can tell from the picture I use it often. The name of the exact lipstick on the picture is called Teddy Bare and you can find it on MILANI’s website, here. The reason I love this brand is not only because they have great colors, but because of their consistency. These color statement lipsticks, are very nourishing on the lips, yet stay a long time on as well. I usually pick this lipstick up when I am heading out for a late night because I know it won’t rub off or be worried on how dry my lips are getting. MILANI is also affordable and this lipstick is only $6.
COLOURPOP
Lipsticks from ColourPop Cosmetics are very pigmented and my favorite matte lipsticks from them are their Ultra Matte Lipsticks. They are very matte and can sometimes get dry if you don’t add any lip balm before, but that’s the purpose of matte lipsticks. They have a huge collection that range from Ultra Satin, to Ultra Matte, and even Ultra Glossy. I like all of them, but prefer the Ultra Satin and Ultra Matte Lipsticks. They also have a ton of colors to choose from, and they sometimes bundle a couple of them and sell them at a lower price. You end up getting more for a lower price. If you have any recommendations of other brands that you recommend please leave a comment down below. I would love to try new brands as well!

Ulta Haul Review
I must first admit, I am a true lover of beauty related YouTube videos. I am constantly learning so much about what new products are out there, which ones are affordable, which ones are “must haves”, etc. This can be a bad thing because like my friends and I have realized, we are constantly wanting to purchase more products. However, I have always tried to keep my makeup collection to a minimum as to not waste any and because although I might love watching makeup videos, I normally wear very minimal makeup. I thought I would go ahead and add an in depth review of the products I recently purchased from my Ulta haul on my blog. I also created a YouTube video on my channel here, if you want to head over there and check a quicker review of the products.
I want to start incorporating a little bit of everything here and share a couple more beauty related posts of reviews of products I love and are affordable. It can be hard finding products that are around your budget and minimalistic. Some of these products I hold true to my heart and would continue repurchasing them, while others I wanted to test out and see if they could have potential of becoming a “must have.”
I must note that makeup was never my thing and I never (maybe once or twice) wore makeup in high school or middle school. I started to learn more about it my first year of college. Till this day, I am still learning how to apply it, it’s a work in progress. However, I do think it is fun to mix it up and play around with the different types of products. So enough rambling and let’s get started with the review.
- Kirkland Signature Daily Facial Towelettes
These towelettes are not from Ulta but I did purchase them the same day and thought I would share with you since it is beauty related. I have never really been a fan of makeup removing wipes because I always felt like the makeup never came off and you always needed a cleanser every time. This is the second time I picked up these wipes from Costco and I think these became a “must have” product for me. These wipes are very gentle on the skin and they will not irritate your eyes. I use both sides of the towelette and find that it takes off all my makeup, especially my eyelashes from the mascara. If you have a Costco card I would suggest checking these out, you get a lot more for the price. - CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
I am currently going through a new skincare routine and have just ran out of a cleanser. The skincare routine I am using is a three step process and I will be creating a blog post or a video on it because it has really worked for me. Anyways, I did some research and wanted to look for a cleanser that was similar to the cleanser from the three step process. This one ended up being the winner and I love it. This is my first time using it and I love how soft and gentle it feels on the skin. I need to keep using it and see if it hydrates some dry patches I have on my face. My skin type is oily, but I do sometimes have dry patches from constantly touching my face and rubbing it. - L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara
Out of all of the mascaras I have tried, I do have to say that this one is my favorite of all time. One of the main reasons I love it is because it does not leave residue or flakes on my under eye. I also do love how thin the wand is making it easy to apply to the lower lash. This mascara does make my eyelashes look longer and not clumpy (who doesn’t love that!?), and it is very affordable. - Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer
I have already mentioned this concealer in one of my December Favorites from last year. It is still one of my favorite concealers. However, recently I haven’t been wearing any concealer and I have been loving the way my makeup comes out. This concealer is creamy and it does cover your under eyes if you have dark circles. - Maybelline FaceStudio Master Prime Blur + Smooth Primer
I have tried many primers but I haven’t seem to find any that I truly like. Please let me know in the comments below primers you recommend for oily skin. I have tried this primer twice now and I like it. I decided to pick it up again because I like the way it makes my skin feel smooth before applying foundation, however I don’t think it really blurs my imperfections. - L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation
This was my first time trying this product and I have mixed feelings about it. The texture is very different when it comes out of the tube. It feels like a mousse but once you apply it to the skin it is lightweight. I don’t feel like it necessarily covered up my imperfections. I felt like a regular lightweight foundation. I only tried it once so perhaps after trying it a couple more times I will get used to it. - Maybelline Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds Lip Color – Mauve It
I love this color and this lipstick! I tried it on yesterday and I feel in love with it. It glides on to the lips really easy. I used a lip balm before applying it and let it dry. It is a demi-matte finish meaning it doesn’t dry out your skin and it doesn’t come off quick like a lipgloss. The color is a mauvy color and it goes with anything! - NYX Cosmetics BB Cream
The reason I decided to pick this product up is because I want to try a BB cream for an everyday makeup look and leave my foundations for special occasions. This BB cream is lightweight and it doesn’t cover a lot but that’s what I like. It is one of those products that you want to use when you are running late or don’t want to wear that much makeup. - Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Set
This is the only beauty blender I use and I love how affordable it is if you buy two instead of one. I know some retail for around $20 for just one, so this is a good deal. It applies my foundation very smoothly and doesn’t leave streaks. It is also really good for concealer under the eye. My old one was very dirty and when it’s dirty and cracked it starts losing its purpose so it was time for a new one.
I am so sorry this post was long, but I wanted to make sure I went through each product in detail. I hope you enjoy and please check out my YouTube channel for the Ulta Haul, here.
